A Horse For Everyone
Therapeutic Riding was our reason for starting this farm in 2006. Our instructor is
PATH (Professional
Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) trained and completed the
EAGALA (Equine Mental
Health Therapy) equine specialist certification. She also has many years of
experience working with children through her role as a pediatric private duty
registered nurse.
We provide riding instruction for children and adults with emotional and
physical disabilities.
For additional information about therapeutic riding lessons, call us at (814) 692-4061.
How Much Does It Cost?
- $35 per half hour private lesson
What Are The Benefits?
The physical benefits of Therapeutic Riding include improvement in balance, coordination and muscle strength in an environment far different from a physical therapy gym.
The emotional benefits may outweigh the physical. The horse acts like an equalizer and facilitator for those with disabilities. The horse is non-judgemental and works as a team member. The student learns communication
skills and responsibility working with the horse and our team. Self image, attention span, self-confidence and motivation usually improve.
